About Us

Hello, Im kylie, creator & owner of Richmond Botanicals Co.

I am a mum of 4 and am obsessed about  creating natural bath and skin care products, and of course my latest obsession candles.  a sustainable business thats good for us and our environment is my goal.

I started this adventure about 20 years ago when our first son had very sensitive and dry skin and I wasn’t happy with the choices available to us at the time. So my skin care venture began.

I wanted fresh clean basic products with an ingredient list I could understand.

My journey began with very basic soap making and the difference in our skin amazed us all. I was addicted.

I started experimenting with beautiful organic butters, oils, clays and botanicals and today I have a range of  products including a Tasmanian inspired candle range,  hair leave in masque, 20 soap varieties,  clay face masks, room sprays, bath soak, ultra rich hand cream, face cream and face  serum. I create all our products from raw ingredients, as local as possible, from recipes I have been refining for decades. So we can offer our products at reasonable prices, as they are made from scratch in our studio in small batches.

I use packaging that’s recyclable. I offer a refill service for my candles. I love meeting my customers and hope you all love the products too. Our motto is  reuse. refill.recycycle. Please drop your clean jars into us at the market or our shop front for recycling and refill service. yes the refills are cheaper!

We have an ever expanding wholesale business, with our candle range now stocked in sydney, brisbane and all over tasmania

We love gardening and grow organic herbs and flowers, I utilise these botanicals where possible in my skin care, botanical infused oils, decorating soaps, crushed botanicals for face masks, bath milk and our expanding tasmanian candle range .

Over 2 decades ago we moved from Queensland to Southern Tasmania and fell in love with the historic town Richmond. We are so lucky to have a property next to the oldest bridge in Australia and here we set up my shop with workshop/studio. We overlook the bridge with all its history. I’m onsite most days creating something in the studio and talking to customers or at our permanent Salamanca Market site number 81 every Saturday.
